Nokia Content Discoverer makes it easier for consumers to discover, try, and purchase your applications. The content portal, appears to be part of a user's device, and so becomes a very convenient way for them to search for new applications.

Nokia Content Discoverer is available for Series 40 devices and S60 devices, and for GSM and CDMA networks, regardless of network transport technology. It is built on Symbian and Java™ platforms, allowing for widespread device deployment. Nokia Content Discoverer also supports OMA DRM 1.0. It is also possible to implement proprietary DRM solutions that operators might require, such as Psiloc DRM and Openbit DRM. OMA DRM 2.0 is on the roadmap.

The types of content accessible through Nokia Content Discoverer are only limited by the type of content the user's device is capable of using. Popular content currently offered includes graphics, sounds, Java™ MIDP applications, S60 applications in Symbian C++, and videos. It also supports full track music and content developed using Flash technology.

Nokia Content Discoverer uses standard Open Mobile Alliance (OMA) platform enablers. The actual interaction protocol is based on HTTP and XML and is available to operators and other Nokia Content Discoverer licensees.
