Our environmental policy

Nokia's commitment to continuous environmental improvement is stated in our environmental policy. Environmental specialists and business management teams are jointly responsible for implementing the policy, which radiates out to all Nokia employees.

Basic principles:

• successful business requires a solid product lifecycle- based environmental performance
• the Nokia Way means an active, open, and ethically sound approach to environmental protection
• the objective of Nokia's environmental policy is sustainable development in accordance with the ICC Business Charter

How we put this into action

• the environmental policy is a part of the general management process
• line organizations plan and implement the action programs with environmental specialists and the best available technology
• the action programs are based on the understanding of the environmental impacts of a product throughout its lifecycle
• minimizing the environmental impacts requires continuous efforts and follow-up on results; these are, therefore, a part of the total overall improvement activities
