We understand the value of honest and open communication
Stakeholder dialogue and opinion is welcomed providing possible improvement and new insight into our environmental activities. It is important for us to know that our message is reaching intended audiences and that it is clear and understood.
Our internal stakeholders
We believe that a company recognized as environmentally responsible is better able to attract and retain employees. We encourage communication on environmental matters through:

Internal training and competency development
Environmental issues are included in our regular management training programs, and all Nokia employees have access to our WWF collaboration and Connect to Protect web-based learning application, as well as a modular e-learning application on environmental matters. New employee inductions particularly include this information through a virtual information session.
Our external stakeholders
External stakeholders include customers, shareholders, investors, supplier, NGOs and governments. Continuous dialogue with them helps keep us up to date with the issues that are most important to us. This dialogue also provides a glimpse at outside expectations of us and at possible avenues by which these expectations can be met.
By meeting with various sectors, public and private on a local, national and/or global platform, we are able to get a holistic image of our company’s efforts within an environmental context and how these efforts are translating into actions.
Memberships
We play an active role in a large number of industry associations and initiatives, such as:

Recognition
It is always encouraging when we receive praise from the outside world for a job well done. Our environmental achievements, as well as other aspects of our CR platform, have been awarded in a variety of venues.
