An environmental enabler

Less need for travel, less paperwork, and smaller packaging are concrete, day-to-day examples of the positive environmental impacts stemming from Information and Communication Technology (ICT).

We all share a responsibility to tread lightly; as an employee who holds a conference call vs. traveling to a meeting, as a team unit that volunteers work time to clean up a local park, as a retailer providing recycling options, we’re all held accountable for a more sustainable future.

Mobile communications enhance people’s ability to consciously choose a greener way of life. By offering smaller products with more capabilities, Nokia’s technology promotes pro-environment lifestyles. As Nokia’s products get smaller in size, they offer a larger range of digital services that connect you to a greater audience through a variety of venues — with a push of a button.

Recent and near future efforts

    • studies are underway concerning its significance and applicability in growing markets
    • we are currently looking for cooperation with various stakeholders in this field to expand our efforts
  • Substance management
    • voluntary phase-outs will continue
