Clive Anderson

After studying law at Cambridge University, where he was also President of the Footlights revue group, Clive practised as a barrister in London for fifteen years. Meantime he wrote scripts for Frankie Howerd, Griff Rhys Jones, Mel Smith and others, and performed as a stand-up comedian, which led to presenting radio and television programs, in particular Whose Line Is It Anyway ?, winning a Bafta Award for the show in 1989. He also presented ten series of his own chat show Clive Anderson Talks Back , picking up British Comedy Awards in 1991 & 1992, before moving on to Clive Anderson All Talk.

Clive has interviewed many leading politicians, film stars, actors, comedians, musicians, singers and writers and presented a variety of television programs including documentary, political, comedy, quiz, arts and live entertainment programs including The Big Read and most recently The Guardian Sports Quiz. On radio he chairs Unreliable Evidence, a legal discussion program, and Chat Room, a satirical radio program.
