Kamini has been working in global and Asian markets for almost three decades with emphasis on the Indian subcontinent and China.

After completing her MBA degree from IIM, Ahmedabad, she started with IMRB, a research subsidiary of JWT, and moved on to become Head of the Qualitative Research Business. She traveled extensively conducting workshops and setting up offices in China, Sri Lanka and Nepal. During stints in the UK she consulted for the BBC, The London Met, The Underground and British Airways.

In 1996, Kamini set up her own consultancy DIMENSIONS, dealing with consumer behavior and brand architecture.

She has provided both strategic insights and tactical understanding for almost all the major brands in India.

She contributes articles regularly to business periodicals. She helped found two business magazines: one in Mumbai called The Smart Manager and The BOSS in Kathmandu and is on the editorial boards of both. Both in India and elsewhere she gives guest lectures in business schools.

She was also on the board of public listed companies in India.

Last year she published a book, The 86% Solution, which she coauthored with Prof Vijay Mahajan, Professor of Marketing, University of Austin, and ex-Dean of ISB in Hyderabad. The book was published jointly by Wharton School Press and Pearsons and is available worldwide.
