Dr. Jörg Behrend

Born in 1966, Jörg Behrend is a German citizen who has been living for about 8 years in Switzerland. After his studies of physics and mathematics he obtained a PhD in experimental semiconductor physics from the Humboldt University of Berlin.
After several years in basic and applied semiconductor research at the Paul-Drude Institute for Solid State Electronics in Berlin and the Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne (EPFL), Jörg Behrend moved into the field of Telecom and IT consulting, joining the RKK consulting group in Germany. As a senior technology consultant he supported numerous European mobile service providers from start-up to mature operation.
In 1999 Jörg Behrend joined Orange Communications S.A. in Switzerland working in various technical line management roles. Since 2003 he has been Vice President Technical (CTO) and a member of the company’s management board, overseeing all aspects of the network and IT planning, deployment and operation.
