Joe Hayashi leads the global strategy and product management for Yahoo!’s mobile communication and community services, including Yahoo! Mail, Yahoo! Messenger, Flickr™ and the company’s mobile social networking strategy.

Hayashi is focused on creating revolutionary social media and communication experiences designed specifically for the mobile phone, and in extending Yahoo!’s worldwide leadership in Mail, which is accessible on almost any mobile phone or carrier and offers the best overall mobile mail experience on high-end devices.

Hayashi joined Yahoo! in 2004 as a member of the Product Strategy group where he led the launch of Yahoo! Podcasts. Previously he worked for Apple, where he managed product marketing initiatives for Internet services as well as mobile phone and productivity software. Before Apple, Hayashi co-founded eCircles.com in 1998, an early social networking site, which was later acquired by Classmates.com.

Hayashi holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Harvard University.
