General Tips Time control Do you travel a lot between different time zones? Let your phone take care of the time settings. Press Menu, and select Settings, Time and date settings and Autoupdate of date & time. Contact your service provider or network operator for availability of this service. Chat Did you know that you can also chat with the Nokia 5100 phone? This means that you can have a conversation with another person using this faster text messaging application. You cannot save received or sent messages, but you can view them while chatting. Each chat message is priced as a text message. See the Messages submenu in your phone. Speakerphone With the integrated handsfree the Nokia 5100 can be used as a speakerphone for conversations. Calendar and to-do lists Calendar and to-do lists are also some of the features that can help you enjoy an active life. To-do list is a phone feature that allows you to create to-do notes and then prioritize and edit them. Check the Organizer submenu in your phone. Automatic keyguard Automatic keyguard: select Settings, Phone Settings and Automatic keyguard. You can set a time delay on your keypad and when that time is up the keypad is locked automatically to prevent accidental key presses. Display brightness You can change the display brightness. Select Display brightness, scroll with and to decrease and increase brightness and press OK to accept it. Radio off To quickly turn off the radio, press and hold . Countdown timer To activate the countdown timer in standby mode, key in a number, press Options and select Countdown timer from the list and set the time. Formats in the Calorie counter You can select the weight, calorie and velocity format by scrolling down the Settings menu and selecting the formats one by one. After you have made a Total calories calculation you can make a calendar entry of the calorie consumption by selecting Options - Save to calendar and entering the date. Loudspeaker You can use your phone as a loudspeaker when making or receiving calls. Do not hold the phone to your ear when using the loudspeaker function. When receiving a call, press Options and select Loudspeaker. The call is accepted immediately. During a call, press Options and select Loudspeaker or press Loudsp. if visible on the phone's display.
