Memory settings for saving contacts
You can save names and phone numbers in the phone’s memory and in the SIM card’s memory. Some features (e.g. adding a thumbnail picture to a contact) are not available for contacts in SIM card’s memory.
Press Menu and select Contacts, Settings and Memory in use to select the memory that you want to use. You can select Phone, SIM card or Phone and SIM. If you select Phone and SIM you can view contacts in both memories but the names and numbers will be saved in the phone’s internal memory.
Save names and phone numbers
To add a contact, press Menu and select Contacts and Add contact. Enter the name and the phone number and press Done. Or, if you have keyed in the phone number in standby mode, press Save to save the number as a contact.
Multiple numbers or text items per contact
Fixed line, private GSM, work GSM… You can save different types of phone numbers and short text items per name in the phone’s internal memory for contacts. The first number saved is automatically set as the default number and it is indicated with a frame around the number type indicator.
Search for a contact
To search for a contact:
- Press
 .
- Key in the first letters of the contact’s name.
- Scroll to the contact.
Caller groups
Do you want set the phone to sound a specific ringing tone when you receive a call from a member of your family?
You can arrange the names and phone numbers saved in Contacts into caller groups:
- Press Menu and select Contacts and Caller groups.
- Select the desired group to add members and define settings.
Copying contacts
Press Menu and select Contacts and Copy to copy names and phone numbers from the phone’s memory to your SIM card’s memory and vice versa. Phone numbers other than the default number, or any text items, such as an e-mail address saved in the phone’s internal number, are not copied to the SIM card.
Sending and receiving a business card
You can send and receive a person’s contact information from a compatible device that supports the vCard standard as a business card.
- To send a business card, search for the name and phone number that you want to send from contacts. Press Details, select the option Send bus. card and select Via infrared or Via text message.
- When you have received a business card, press Show and Save to save the business card in the phone’s memory.
