You can create a list of contacts whose presence status information you want to be aware of, if the contacts allow you to view it and if it is not prevented by the contact or the network.
Adding contacts to the subscribed names
Ensure that the memory in use is either Phone or Phone and SIM. See Contacts in Tips and Hints to change memory settings.
- Press Menu and select Contacts and Subscribed names.
- If you have no contacts on your list, press Add. Otherwise, select the option Subscribe new.
- Select a contact from the list; if the contact has a user ID saved, the contact is added to the subscribed names list.
Viewing the subscribed names
Press Menu and select Contacts and Subscribed names. The status information of the first contact on the subscribed names list is displayed.
 Person is available.
 Person is discreet.
 Person is not available.
 Person’s presence information is not available.
To start a chat conversation, select the option Chat.
Unsubscribing a contact
- Search for a contact in the Contacts list, and press Details.
- Select the user ID, the option Unsubscribe and press OK.

When you are not connected to the presence service, you can view the subscribed names but not see their presence status information.

To subscribe to a contact from the Contacts list, search for the contact, press Details and select the option Request presence and select As subscription.
To only view the presence information, select Request presence and One time only.
