Before you can use the Instant Messaging service, you need to connect to the service.

To connect to the Instant Messaging service, complete the following steps.

NOTE

To set the phone to automatically connect to the instant messaging service, connect to the instant messaging service, select My settings, Automatic login and On IM start-up.
