Troubleshooting

   Connecting via DKU-2 USB Cable

You should install the DKU-2 USB cable driver before installing Nokia PC Suite.

Installing the DKU-2 USB Cable Driver

To install the cable drivers:

  1. First install the cable drivers by running the setup program.
  2. Plug the DKU-2 USB cable into the compatible PC. Windows recognizes the phone and finds the drivers for it. Answer Yes to the Digital signature question.
  3. Install Nokia PC Suite.

Verifying the Installation

After installing the DKU-2 USB cable drivers, ensure that the phone is connected to the compatible PC. Go to Control Panel and double-click on the System icon. Select the Hardware tab and select Device Manager. (In Windows 98 and Windows ME, select the Device Manager tab from the System icon.)

In the Device Manager dialog, double-click on Wireless Communication Devices. Verify that the Nokia 6230 USB Phone Parent is present under Wireless Communication Devices. If the Nokia 6230 USB Phone Parent is not present, the installation has not been successful.

In the Device Manager dialog, double-click on Modems. Verify that you have a Nokia 6230 modem without an exclamation mark next to the icon. If the Nokia 6230 modem does not exist or if it has an exclamation mark next to the icon, the installation has not been successful.

Connecting

  1. Connect your phone to the compatible PC via the DKU-2 cable.
  2. Open Nokia Connection Manager and activate the USB connection by clicking on the rightmost button. The connection method is active when the button background is green.
  3. Your phone should now be visible in the Nokia Connection Manager.
