To save the phone book's settings, press Contacts, then Settings.

Select Memory in use to select the phone book to use. You can use the phone memory, the SIM card memory, or both. The phone memory can save up to 500 contacts (depending on the available shared memory). The Nokia 6800 messaging device supports SIM cards with up to 250 contacts.

Select Phone book view to choose how the phone displays names and numbers. Select Memory status to see how much available space is on the phone and/or SIM card.

You can save different numbers or additional information under each contact - e-mail, web and postal addresses as well as a personal note. You can add more data into a phone book entry by pressing Details when browsing the phone book entries. Then press Options and select Add number or Add detail.

The first number entered for the contact is set as the default number for calling or sending messages. To change the default number, scroll to the desired name, press Details, scroll to the number you wish to set as the default, then press Options, and Set as default.
