Tips for Text Messaging

  • To move the cursor to the right, left, up or down, move the joystick respectively.
  • To delete a character to the left of the cursor, press Clear. Press and hold Clear to delete the characters more quickly.
  • To delete all the characters at once when writing a message, press Options and select Clear text.
  • To quickly open the Create message menu, move the joystick to the left in standby mode.
  • Use the shift keys in open mode to create capital letters and other characters. You can either press and hold the shift key while typing a character, or press the shift key once and then the desired letter.
  • To insert a word when using the predictive text input, press Options and select Insert word. Write the word using the traditional text input and press Save. The word is also added to the dictionary.
  • To insert a special character when using the traditional text input, press *+,or when using the predictive text input, press and hold *+, or press Options and select Insert symbol. In the open mode, press the Chr key.
  • Use the joystick to select a character and press Use.
  • You can also scroll to a character in closed mode by pressing 2abc, 4ghi, 6mno or 8tuv, and select the character by pressing 5jkl.
  • To input a variant of a letter (ö, é, etc) in open mode, press and hold the Chr key, then press the letter repeatedly until the desired variant appears.
  • To quickly turn predictive text input on or off while writing, press the # key twice, or press and hold Options.
  • To insert a phone number while writing, press Options and select Insert number. Key in the phone number or search for it in the phone book and press OK.
  • To insert a name from the phone book, press Options and select Insert name. To insert a phone number or a text item attached to the name, press Options and select View details.
