Sending and Receiving Data Via Infrared

To send and receive data via infrared:

  • Ensure that the infrared ports of your phone and the other device are pointing at each other, and that there are no obstructions between the devices.
The preferable distance between the two devices in an infrared connection is one meter at the most.
  • To receive data, activate the infrared port.
To activate the infrared port: Press Menu in standby mode, and select Connectivity and Infrared.
  • To send data from your phone, select the function from which you want to send data over the infrared connection.
For example, to send a calendar note when you are viewing it in the Calendar menu, press Options, select Send note, and Via infrared.

If data transfer is not started within two minutes after the activation of the infrared port, the connection is cancelled and has to be started again.
