We aim to provide updates to the map data approximatelly 4 times a year. To ensure that you have the latest map data, upgrade to the latest Maps client and regularly check and download the map data.
You can take full advantage of Nokia Maps, the navigation service that users worldwide already enjoy on their Symbian-based Nokia Smartphones. In addition to offline and online walk and drive navigation, you can also benefit from core features like maps access, search, and interaction with millions of places. Nokia Maps on the N9 also features public transport routing in over 80 cities worldwide, a dedicated Drive application optimised for in-car usage, full gesture support, and nearby place suggestions. It also allows you to share your favourite places with your friends - not only via SMS and Email but also to Facebook and Twitter.
In Drive application select More > Settings > Navigation voice and select the language from the list or select Download new to get more language files.
In Maps when using walk navigation, select More > Select voice after starting the navigation.
You can manage and install the voice guidance files also via Nokia Suite v3.5 (or later) when your phone is plugged to PC.
Maps and Drive applications in Nokia N9 are not available in the following languages:

Note that the device may still use internet connection if Assisted GPS (A-GPS) is enabled in the positioning settings for better location accuracy. A-GPS can be disabled in the device settings:
When A-GPS is turned off, it may take a longer time to get the GPS fix.
Start Maps and select More > About to check the version number for the Maps application and the currently downloaded Map data.

No, it is enough that you synchronize your favourites in either Nokia Maps or Drive. The same set of favourites is available on both Maps and Drive and will be synchronized to the online service (maps.nokia.com).
To synchronize your favourites via Nokia Maps, select More > Favourites > (sync icon at top right). To synchronize the favourites via Nokia Drive, select More > Set destination > Favourites > Synchronize.
Tap the Search field and enter the address or place details.
If searching for a remote place, use a more specific query, e.g. Airport, London, UK or move the map position to the desired area before doing the search.
Note that If Maps is in offline mode, it has more limited search database. For best search results, use Maps in online mode (More > Settings > Online).
