Enter Bangla characters

qgn-stat-case-bengali.jpg indicates the Bangla mode.

Enter a space

Press 0.

Enter a Bangla number

Press and hold the corresponding key (0-9).

Enter a special character

Press and hold *. Scroll to the desired character, and select Use.

Enter the special Bengali characters chandrabindu bengali-chandrabindu.jpg , anusvara bengali-anusvara.jpg , visarga bengali-visarga.jpg , khanda-ta bengali-khanda-ta.jpg , ya-phala bengali-ya-phala.jpg , repha bengali-repha.jpg , and virama bengali-virama.jpg

Press 1 until the desired character is displayed.

Delete text

Place the cursor at the end of the text to be deleted, and press Clear repeatedly until the desired text is deleted.

Delete the entire text

Select Options > Clear field .

Keypresses are denoted as follows:

2 - 1 - 1: press 2 once and 1 twice.

5 - 5 > 5 - 5 - 5: press 5 twice, wait until the cursor appears, and press 5 three times to create the next character.

  • To enter a matra, first enter the first consonant, then press 2 or 3 until the desired character is displayed.

    In Bangla, the multipart matras are entered as a single character following a consonant. It is not possible to enter the matras in a sequence of left part, consonant and right part.

  • To enter independent vowels, press 2 or 3 until the desired character is displayed. To enter an independent vowel after a consonant, press * before you enter the vowel.

  • To enter a combined consonant, enter the first consonant, press * and enter the second consonant to be combined.

    Alternatively, combine consonants by entering a virama ્ from key 1. Enter the first consonant, and press 1 repeatedly until the virama appears. Then enter the second consonant to be combined.

    When the virama is applied to a consonant by pressing 1 repeatedly, the virama is displayed with the consonant. When the virama is applied to the first consonant by pressing *, a dotted cursor appears to indicate that the consonant will be combined with the following consonant.
