Our employment processes are designed to ensure that no children are working in our factories. Nokia supports youth employment when it can be ensured that young workers are not exposed to hazardous, unsafe or unhealthy work, including overtime or nightshifts.

Nokia factory workers are free of any discrimination and harassment in all employment practices, such as job postings and access to trainings. To ensure this, Nokia factories have grievance processes and disciplinary processes in place.

Written work contracts, reasonable notice periods, freedom of movement and not holding any identification of the employees ensure that no factory workers are forced to stay or work at a Nokia site.

Factory workers and employer have an open and active dialogue. Workers have freedom of peaceful assembly that is enabled even if this freedom is restricted by law by facilitating parallel means for collective bargaining.

All factory workers are aware of a progressive disciplinary process that respects employees’ wellbeing. This process is in place to ensure that misbehaviours are corrected and an orderly workplace free of disturbances is maintained.

Nokia acknowledges that it is both the advantage of the factory workers and the employer to control working hours so that employees’ free time and well-being is ensured.
