The Survey Creator is a standalone PC application, which enables the creation of questionnaires. The software has been developed so it is simple to use and requires very little training. The Survey Creator enables the following types of question responses:

• Numeric
• Date
• Multiple choice (choose one or more)
• Exclusive choice (choose only one)
• Free text

The Survey Creator also features trigger questions. For example, if a respondent is asked whether they own a car, a positive response may trigger further questions asking them what type of car, whether it is insured and so on. A negative reply will skip these questions to save time.

When a questionnaire has been finalized, it can be uploaded to the server for distribution to the field personnel.

The Survey Creator was coded in Adobe Flex to facilitate the longer-term development of the software. Specifically, Adobe Flex will enable the Survey Creator to be run as a rich internet application, offering the same graphical and user-interface capabilities as a PC-based, standalone application. In that sense, Nokia Data Gathering has been designed for longevity.

The Survey Creator also includes a feature that will enable the integration of interview results to pre-existing databases. This complements the Connector API.
