Augmentra ViewRanger
ViewRanger is a unique mapping, navigation, and information tool for mobile phones that provides information about your immediate surroundings through a natural and intuitive display. ViewRanger transforms your S60 smartphone into a fully featured off-road and trail-navigation system. It provides you with both on-road and off-road information and detailed topographic maps, as well as a 3D panoramic view of your surroundings. Using the phone's internal global positioning system (GPS), or connected to a Bluetooth GPS receiver, ViewRanger will plot your position and update the map automatically as you travel. Your velocity and direction indicator are shown on the moving map display. Your current location's grid reference is displayed at the top of the screen. You can choose from a range of formats, including 6-, 8-, or 10-digit grid reference, national grids, UTM, and various forms of longitude/latitude.

ViewRanger allows you to create or edit routes and waypoints on your S60 device, and to import information created by others about your locality from Web sites and PC applications. You can record photos and video clips with your device and transfer them onto your map, or share them with others via the ViewRanger TravelLog. The application also lets you view the postings of others. ViewRanger's Buddy Beacon portal allows you to exchange your location with a select set of friends, and track each other live on your smartphone or via a web portal. The application contains a Trip View, which allows you to monitor key information while on the move, including speed, distance, and pace. It also lets you see a Track Log, so that you can review such parameters as time taken, maximum and average speed, track length, and elevation height gain or loss. You can also analyze your performance with on-screen graphs, both during and after recording your Track Log. Detailed topographic maps are available to download over-the-air and map coverage currently includes ten European countries (Belgium, Finland, France, Great Britain, Holland, Ireland, Norway, Slovenia, Switzerland).
