The new twist is that each stage has a key block that, when smashed, unlocks the top and bottom of the screen. Using the key blocks, you can move up and down the tower of screens, working your way towards a boss monster that lurks at the top of every sequence of brick-filled screens. The boss monster is composed of moving bricks, and smashing the boss monster allows you to complete each stage.

Besides the brick boss monster on each sequence of screens, there is also a snake that slithers around the screen, an alien creature, and a moving armada of smaller bricks. Taking any or all of these out can gain you extra points, but it won’t help your progress unless you can also defeat the boss monster. The game is loaded with power-ups that can either bolster or hinder your block-cleaning efforts. One of the helpful power-up is the grenade. You plant it near some bricks, and after a few seconds, it explodes them. One of the power-ups that you probably want to avoid is the speed boost, which makes the bricks fly faster.
