GPS-Action 1.0 for Series 60.3
The ability to give yourself reminders has now been stretched to another dimension--or more precisely, two dimensions. Symbian Guru’s GPS-Action 1.0 for Series 60.3 application allows you to set automatic alarms and perform different actions on your device based upon the GPS and cell position of the device. So, you are not just restricted to time-based reminders anymore. You can set a reminder such as ‘When I get to the mall, remind me to buy those red holiday socks.’
The application can do more than simply send you a text reminder. You can set the alarm to trigger actions such as firing up a desired application, launching a desired document, or even changing the profile of your device, including turning on or off your Bluetooth technology interface when you reach a certain geographic location. The action frequency of the alarms can also be restricted in case you are approaching the same landmark more than once. An example of that usage would be if you are driving on a winding road on the edge of a cell zone. If you have no GPS on your mobile phone, the application can still function using your CellID information as its guide. The application is also aware of Nokia landmarks, and you can establish your own landmarks manually by defining their coordinates. The application works with all S60 3rd Edition devices. The user manual and a full-function 10-day free trial version of GPS-Action 1.0 for Series 60.3 can be downloaded from www.symbianguru.com. You can buy the permanent version by selecting Options, and then Buy on the trial version, and then following the onscreen instructions.
