Psiloc Connect
When a WLAN is available for use, why use up your units of 3G, EDGE, or other carrier data connectivity? On the other hand, who wants to be constantly setting and resetting their cell phones to adapt to the most cost-efficient and/or fastest line available? Instead, that should be the job of an intelligent piece of software resident on the phone and operating in the background. Psiloc Connect is just such a piece of software. It even has a smart roaming setting to minimize your data charges when you are abroad.

Psiloc Connect allows you to set a single access point that tells your device to first try to connect via WLAN, and if not, then use 3G/EDGE as a backup access point. It will create a new access point that it labels Psiloc Connect. Simply instruct all of your applications to use this access point, and the rest is done automatically. You can even set several WLAN access points, and it will try them all before falling back to 3G. If you don’t have a data plan through your carrier, then you can tell Psiloc Connect to try WLAN, and if it doesn’t find one, then it won’t connect. The application is available now from the Psiloc store, and costs US$15.77 (EUR9.95). A 10-day free trial is available. More at http://connect.psiloc.com..
