Creating apps for Windows Phones to solve the world’s toughest problems

The Microsoft Imagine Cup is the world’s premier student technology competition where students are invited to use their imagination and passion to create a technology solution that addresses the Imagine Cup 2012 theme: Imagine a world where technology helps solve the toughest problems.

The Imagine Cup has been challenging student competitors around the globe to present creative technology solutions to some of the world’s toughest environmental, social and humanitarian problems. This year the participants can design apps specifically for Windows Phones, and win a Nokia Lumia.

Nokia is a premier sponsor for the Imagine Cup 2012 and the sponsor of the Windows Phone Challenge. Nokia will also help students to get started with their game-changing ideas by offering over 7000 engaging development suggestions already available in areas such as education, health and environment on IdeasProject web site at www.ideasproject.com/imaginecup2012

In ten years, the Imagine Cup has grown to be a truly global competition focused on finding solutions to real-world problems. Since 2003, over 1.4 million students have participated in the Imagine Cup with 358,000 students representing 183 countries and regions registering for the Imagine Cup 2011 competition.
