Nokia makes it into the top 20 in Interbrand's 2012 Best Global Green Brands ranking
Nokia has earned the number 20 spot in Interbrand's 2012 Best Global Green Brands ranking, moving up two places from last year. The report examines how leading brands perform in the arena of sustainability and how their environmentally conscious efforts are perceived by the public. According to the study, it is the sum of these two parts – performance and perception – that makes up the whole of a green company.
Performance data for the study has been provided by Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu, and in evaluating Nokia they have taken into consideration factors such as our evaluation of the impact of every Nokia product through a life-cycle assessment, our products’ eco profiles describing the environmental efficiency of their development, our industry-leading position in the use of biomaterials and recycled parts, our extensive recycling scheme, our focus on green industrial programs, and our continuous high placement in several prominent international sustainability rankings. In fact, in Nokia’s case the report figures indicate that Nokia is doing more than it is given credit for.
