Nokia X7-00 doesn't have a compass and the map view in Nokia Maps cannot therefore be rotated by tapping the compass icon. The map view points to north in walk navigation. In drive navigation the map view points to the direction of the route.
If you have Maps version 3.06 installed in your phone, it is possible to switch the direction also in walk navigation by selecting in the navigation options Align map to route (default Align map north). The corresponding option is, however, not available in the later Maps versions.
