When you transfer a large amount of content such as photos and music between your Nokia phone and your computer, it is recommended that you use a compatible USB cable to connect. The USB cable connection also saves you a lot of time when you update your phone software.
With the Nokia Multimedia Transfer application you can sync videos, music, photos, bookmarks, and files. However, Nokia Multimedia Transfer application is not any more supported by newer Mac OS versions.
If you are a Nokia S40 (Asha) or Symbian user, a media content can be transfer through 3rd party software over Multimedia Transfer Protocol (MTP). To see the list of supported options, go to http://www.sync-mac.com.
Refer to the device specifications on Nokia Developer Community for a list of connectivity options on your phone.

To access Facebook from your home screen, add the Social widget to the home screen.
Check for updates to the Social client in Menu > Applications > SW Update.
Upload to SkyDrive is a software app that lets you upload your contacts and photos to the Microsoft cloud service. You can then access the uploaded data using other SkyDrive compatible devices, or online at www.live.com.
Also, once you buy a Lumia phone, the Upload to SkyDrive app allows you to transfer data you have on your Symbian phone to your new Lumia phone. If you have already uploaded your data to SkyDrive, you can just sync your Lumia phone with the cloud, making the data from your Symbian phone available to you on your new phone. Or, if your data is not in the cloud yet, you can do the upload once, then sync your Lumia phone with the cloud to get the data to your new phone.
Check that your device is not connected to PC over USB connection using the Mass storage mode. If connected in Mass storage mode, the mass memory access is reserved for transferring files to / from PC and the device applications cannot at the same time access the mass memory or memory card. The File Manager application will show in this situation the message "memory in use" or "memory card in use" when trying to view the mass memory contents.
To access the mass memory or memory card again, unplug the USB connection or use the PC Suite or Nokia Suite mode instead of Mass storage mode when connecting the device to a PC.
The Storage Check app displays details about app data size and memory usage. There are no limitations for the apps data size on Lumia with Windows Phone 8, so they can grow as much as needed. This is why we offer details on the app sizes with the Storage Check app.
With the Storage Check app you can clear several types of temp files, such as leftovers from app installs and updates, SkyDrive uploads and PC file transfers. They are removed by the OS too, but sometimes quite slowly.
First version of the Storage Check app does not separate, measure or clear video files. Shot videos count towards Photos, and downloaded or side-loaded videos count towards Music+Videos.
Note: The Storage Check app does not clear all files from the Other folder. This folder contains multimedia metadata, file system overhead, and in general things that the user cannot do much about.
