Your privacy in Nokia Music and Nokia MixRadio
What information do we collect?
We collect the following categories of information:
When you register to the Service and create a Nokia Account, your contact details such as email address and/or mobile phone number along with your user name and password are collected.
Credit or debit card details and other financial information
If you choose to make a purchase via credit or debit card, you must provide Nokia with your card details. Card details are not associated to your Nokia account unless you so choose, in which case the card details are stored by a reputable payment provider and tied to your Nokia account and can be used for further transactions with the same Nokia account. The Service may allow you to add credit to your account or to purchase a premium subscription which provides you with enhanced features to the Service.
We record your transactions with us, for example your registration to the Service and your purchase and download activities conducted within the Service. For example, we record the product you downloaded, the date and time of your download, information on which content area a track was purchased and the number of streaming or preview tracks you listened to, the payment amount and payment method (if applicable), and your receipt email address (if available). We also record any comments, ratings or reviews that you provided for any content.
Music listening data
The Service allows you to create a personalized profile based on your music listening. The music listening profile will be composed of the tracks you listen, the skips, likes and dislikes you indicate per track. The music listening data will also continue to be collected in case you set the music player to background but have enabled music listening data collection. If you have logged in to your Nokia Account while listening music and enabled music listening data collection at the same time, your music listening profile will be tied to your Nokia Account and remain active as long as you don’t terminate your Nokia Account. When you terminate your Nokia Account, also the music listening profile would get deleted.
Your location may be used to provide you information about nearby events and to make your music listening profile location-aware. If you have turned music listening data collection on and have also enabled the location services for the application, location information will be associated to the music listening data. If you don’t want this to happen, you can either turn off location services for the application from the settings menu or turn off the music listening data collection.
Statistical information about Service usage
The Service makes use of Nokia Improvement Program, through which, we may collect information such as the size of your music collection, your preferences, tracks downloaded from the Service, information about the tracks you play on your device, the tracks or stations you listen from the radio provided via the Service, the searches you perform within the Service and the territory in which you are when using the Service. This information is used for the purposes of improving the products and services and understanding which features of the product and service are used the most often. You may choose to turn the improvement program off either from the application settings or the device settings, depending on your device model and software version.
How we use the information we have collected?
This includes activities such as determining the compatibility of and applicable content for your mobile device, managing applicable licenses, enabling you to download and re-install the same content to the same handset, in case you happened to delete or uninstall content, which you previously bought or downloaded and rendering content specifically tailored for your network operator, showing you your download history and verifying your identity and processing payments.
Recommendations on artists and tracks you may like
The Service may provide you with recommendations on artists or tracks you may like. These recommendations are based on your music listening behavior and indications of like and unlike for a particular track or artist. If you have enabled push notifications, the recommendations may be provided to you as push notifications.
Non-personal use of statistical information
We do not associate collected statistical information with personally identifiable information, such as a Nokia account, unless you have asked us to do so. This information is used for service development and reporting purposes. We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to prevent associating your usage statistics with personally identifiable information without your permission.
You may turn on and off the music listening data collection and location data from the settings of the Service. Music listening data setting controls the creation of the music listening profile. As your music listening profile may be associated to your Nokia Account, please also consider that if you have music listening data enabled and you are logged in to Nokia Account at the same time, your music listening data will be associated to your Nokia Account.
