Troubleshooting for Nokia Lumia 920

HERE Drive is an application for voice-guided drive navigation. HERE Maps is a map application which shows your current position and interesting places around you. HERE Maps provides also routing information for planning a route to remote destinations.

You can manage your favourites by tapping the favourites icon in the main menu of HERE Maps. My Places menu is opened showing your favourites and a collection of the places you have recently viewed.

To add a place in your favourites:

• Search for the place.
  
• Tap the place icon to view the place details.
  
• Tap the favourites icon in the place details.
  
• Change the name of the favourite, if needed.
  

To remove a place from your favourites:

• Tap the favourites icon in main menu to see your favourites.
  
• Tap the place to be removed.
  
• Tap the favourites icon in place details.
  

If enabled in Settings > Show favourites on map, you can see your favourites also on the map (marked by a yellow star).

If not already signed in, you can sign in to your Nokia account by selecting More > Sign in in the Maps main menu and entering your Nokia username and password.

You need to be signed in to your Nokia account if you want to synchronise your favourites with the here.com web service.

The colored dot shown in the upper right corner of a place icon indicates that the place is a prime place added to the map on request by the business owner. In the place details you will find additional information provided by the business owner.

Prime place is a service which lets the merchants to add information of their business to HERE Maps and have it visible for the Maps users.

Check that you have allowed the using of the location service in HERE Maps and Drive and in the phone settings. Check that the following settings are enabled:

HERE Maps and Drive:

• In HERE Maps select Settings > Use my location > On.
  
• In HERE Drive select Settings > Location > On.

Device settings:

• Select Settings > location >  Location services > On.
  

Check also that the phone can properly obtain the location by using the available positioning methods:

GPS positioning:

• If you are indoors, go outdoors to receive a better signal.
  
• If you are outdoors, move to a more open space.
  
• If the weather conditions are bad or you are behind UV protected or heated windscreen, the signal strength may also be affected.
  
• Check that your hand does not cover the GPS receiver.
• Assisted GPS (A-GPS) feature will speed up getting the GPS fix. To be able to use A-GPS, check that your phone is online. A-GPS uses the mobile internet connection to connect to a server that tells your device which GPS satellites it will be able to connect to, reducing the time it takes to get a GPS fix. 
  

Wi-Fi positioning:

• Wi-Fi positioning will help you get the location when no GPS signal is available but there are Wi-Fi networks nearby. To be able to use Wi-Fi positioning, enable Wi-fi in Settings > WiFi > WiFi networking

Cellular positioning:

• If no GPS fix or Wi-Fi position can be obtained, your location can be obtained by using the cellular network if you have SIM card inserted in your phone and you are connected to the cellular network.
  

Yes, the house numbers can be seen in selected cities. To view the house numbers, zoom in to the street level.

Note that the house numbers are not available in all cities.

You can plan a route between any locations in the following way:

• Select Options > Directions.
  
• Select the transport mode (walk, public transport or drive)
  
• Select From and search for the start location. Select the desired place on the map or choose from the search list.
  
• Select To and search for the destination location. Select the desired place on the map or choose from the search list.
• When the route is shown, tap the down arrow at the bottom right or scroll down to view the route details.
  

Alternatively, you can select the start and end points for the route on the map:

• Long press the starting point on the map and tap the place icon.
• Select directions from here.
• Select the transport mode (walk, public transport or drive).
• Tap the map at the top of the screen to enter the map view.
• Long press the end point on the map and tap the place icon.
• Select directions to here.

If you have problems in finding an address or place, check the following:

• Check that the address is spelled correctly.
• Try entering only a few first characters of the street or city name (three characters at minimum) and choose the correct entry from the list.
• Check that the Country and City/Postcode are spelled correctly and that they are compatible with the address.
• Check that you are in online mode. The online search makes use of the maps servers and is quicker and more accurate than an offline search.
  
• The order of the search results is based on the distance to the current map position (nearest first). If searching for a remote place, use a more specific query, e.g. Airport, Paris, France or move the map position to the desired area before doing the search.
  

You can check the version number by selecting Options (icon in lower right corner) > About.

• Go to phone settings and select feedback to Nokia, scroll to the right and deselect Participate in program.
