Troubleshooting for Nokia products

If there's no voice guidance heard in Maps navigation when using the Polish voice files with street names, take the following actions to fix the issue:

• Set Maps to online mode by selecting Settings > Internet > Connection > Online.
• Select Settings > Navigation > Drive guidance > Polish - with street names. There should be an icon next to the entry with a phone and a red star and you will get a prompt to download the voice guidance files. Accept the prompt to download the files.
  

If there is no red star next to the icon and the voice file is not downloaded, try then to manually delete the folder \cities\diskcache\voices\polish_tts on mass memory and re-download the voice files as described above or download them via Nokia Suite.

Route planning calculates and displays a route between two locations. Navigation means that the route is calculated from your current GPS position to a chosen destination. The navigation is voice-guided.

Free navigation is included in Maps v3.03 and later versions. To check the availability of the free navigation for your device, visit the Maps support pages of your local Nokia website.

Depending on your device, you can update to the latest Maps version via Nokia Suite, SW Update menu, Nokia Store or via an installable sis-file.

If you have upgraded your Maps 3.01 from Maps 2.0, Maps 3.01 can't use the voice files used in Maps 2.0 and therefore needs to download new voice files to give the voice commands.

To download new voice files, answer Yes when the application requires to download voice guidance. If you select No, the navigation continues without voice guidance. You can also download the voice files to your PC with Nokia Suite.

Voice files are updated only when you start navigating.

In case you have chose the wrong region for activating your Nokia Maps 1-year Navigation License CD, contact Nokia Care - contact details at your local Nokia website, support page.

Have the following information at hand when contacting Nokia Care:

• Date of license purchase
• License type you wish to transfer (for example, navigation and length of license)
• The customer contact information in case of further questions (telephone number and/or email address)
• Order code and license code (if available see the purchase email if you entered your email address during the purchase)
• Current IMEI (International Mobile Equipment Identity) code (to see your IMEI, enter *#06# on your mobile device)
• Previous IMEI code if your mobile device was exchanged
• Payment method (without your credit card number!)
• Phone number (including country and network provider code)

Traffic info in Maps 2.0 does not offer re-routing functionality for traffic events during pedestrian navigation. The service is optimised to be used for car navigation.

Note that Ovi Maps version 3.03 and later offer navigation and other services for free. There is no need to use any license on these releases.

If your device was delivered with an included navigation and/or Traffic & Safety licence but you have not activated them, the licence is displayed as pending. The licence is activated when you start navigating.

Note that there's no licence needed with Maps versions 3.03 and later.

Walk navigation stops if your speed exceeds 30 km/h, so Walk navigation cannot be used while driving a car.

Yes, voice guidance for walk navigation is available in Nokia N9 Maps. After starting walk navigation, select the voice file in More > Select voice and enable the option Voice guidance.
