You have the Predictive text function on. 

To switch off the predictive text function, select Menu > Tools > Settings > General > Personalisation > Language > Predictive text > Off.

Or in some devices (e.g. Nokia N97), select Menu > Settings > Phone > Language > Predictive text > Off.
