WLAN connectivity status is indicated by an antenna symbol upper-right hand corner of the display and signal strength bars can be checked by the connection manager.
Menu > Settings > Connectivity > Connection Manager > Active data connections > Details.
Signal: Good / Medium / Weak (xxx %)
