FAQ - My favourite contacts from the home screen widget have disappeared after a device software upgrade, why?

This appears when Mail for Exchange (MFE) has been configured and the device software is upgraded over the air (from SW update on the device) or via Nokia Suite. The reason for the issue is that MFE performs a full resync after a software upgrade and all contacts and calendar entries are resynced from the server.

To recover, you need to add your favorite contacts back to the home screen contacts widget manually.
