I have bought this device since it was launched in the Philippines. I had great expectations from this phone considering the past reputation of the Nokia Communicators. The device build screams quality!
This phone is relatively easy to setup for tech savvy individuals and those who have considerable experience with the Symbian Platform. However it can be quite confusing for those new to touch devices and for the much older folks.
Being a business class device, I expected the E7 to be outfitted with more RAM (at least 512MB) to handle heavy multitasking. However, for a power user, 256MB of RAM would prove insufficient.
The processing power is good enough to handle most of the tasks I need on the phone. However, for gaming, Nokia S^3 devices are not up to the task for the latest HD mobile games, given the high spec requirements of these titles. If gaming is the primary purpose of buying a phone, look elsewhere. The beefed up specs of the newer Nokias such as the N9, 701, & Lumias, are better capable in gaming. As general rule, a 1Ghz processor, Dedicated GPU, 512MB RAM is required for a smooth mobile gaming experience.
For business purposes, the E7 made my life easier. It also has a professional appeal that most other business phones, IMHO, lack. Office applications are also easier to use thanks to its large 4-row built-in keyboard. Text input is much faster with the physical keyboard compared to onscreen input. When I take out this phone in front of clients, it sends a clear message that I mean business.
As regards the battery life, I can say its dismal for a power user but it can easily last me the whole working day. Being a physically larger device compared to the N8, I wished Nokia had used a larger capacity battery to give that extra juice required for the extended periods away from charger.
The phone can also double as a wireless media player (Nokia Play To) or a wired one through its HDMI out. It is also a very capable portable music player. Just copy your MP3 and videos to the E7, and enjoy! The E7 supports a wide variety of audio/video codecs, thus eliminating the need to convert your media.
Despite its shortcomings, the E7 is a pretty powerful handheld laptop! Its pretty durable as it has survived several falls and wall throwing (made in an extreme fit of anger). :D
I do hope, Nokia would continue to produce business-centric devices that offer a similar form factor as that of the E7.

it's been already a month since i acquired the phone and it never dissapointed me in any way..at least yet. it was originally running symbian 3 but i managed to upgrade the os to symbian anna in about an hour after i bought the item. im hoping for the symbian belle update to be released soon. i have bought some apps from the ovi store and installed it on my phone using just the 3g connection and i am impressed with the speed of the download, it was just later that i am having some trouble in buying apps from the ovi store because the only mode of payment is done by charging the amount on my postpaid bill..this mode of payment requires an authentication from the service provider and if authentication fails purchase also fails. but anyway, i guess this kind of matter is a concern that i must address to my service provider and not to the ovi store. social network is also very easy and fun using the built in social network app on the phone which can integrate your multiple social accounts. ill just be complaining a bit about the battery life. i expected the phone to have a longer battery life than those other smartphones in the market but as i experienced, the battery life is just average and not really outstanding. what i like the most about the phone is the free gps navigation that it offers, it is really helpful. i was once in davao city when i had a hard time finding my destination but using the ovi maps and the voice guided navigation system in it made it easy for me to tour around the streets of davao without worrying. i love the phone's designed, and im telling you..nokia maintains its reputation in making the most durable phones ever, i have dropped the phone several times (because im clumpsy) but never a scratch on any side of the phones. last time i dropped it i was so worried about scratches on the screen but when i wiped the dirt i was so amazed that despite of hitting a rough concrete flooring (face down) i could never find any scratches on the screen. you will love the phone when you have it :D

I never knew that there was a kind of this phone that Nokia was releasing. Before, the phone I only knew was the "N8" and "X7". I haven't realized that there is another phone that will suite me. A 4" screen is my target size. Unfortunately, I already got the N8 when I discovered the Nokia E7. Although the N8 is good but still, I like to get the E7 so there are no doubts and regrets on getting this phone.
