Whenever I try to open Nokia Music Player on my PC it crashes. What can I do? - Nokia FAQ

Average Rating

This error is sometimes caused by a corrupted MDataStore.db3 file used by Nokia Music Player. This file will need to be deleted with Nokia Music Player closed. Then open the player and the datastore file will be rewritten by the application:

Close Nokia Music Player and delete the MDataStore.db3 file:

*The MDataStore.db3 file is also used by Nokia Suite to store user data, such as: SMS, calendar entries and contact information. Therefore, users of Nokia Suite are advised to backup any user data before removing the .db3 file.

- Vista and 7 C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Local\Nokia\Nokia Data Store\DataBase\MDataStore.db3
- XP C:\Documents and Settings\<user>\Local Settings\Application Data\Nokia\Nokia Data Store\DataBase\MDataStore.db3

Both of these locations are in hidden folders.  So, to view them users will need to:
Open Windows Explorer > Tools > Folder Options > View > Show Hidden Files and Folders

Once Nokia Music Player is opened again the MDataStore.db3 file will be rewritten to this folder.

I cannot send or receive multimedia messages - Nokia FAQ

Average Rating
  1. If you have Nokia Lumia 505, 510, 610, 710, 800 or 900, download and install the Network Setup application which can be found in the Nokia Collection on Store (Marketplace). To set up Internet and MMS settings, start the app and select your network operator. If you see the APN editing option under Network Setup menu, tap on the Edit APN, and then select delete.
  2. If you have any other Nokia Lumia phone, go to Settings > access point, and select your network operator.
  3. Confirm with your network operator that you have an active mobile data subscription (access to internet) on your SIM card.
  4. Enable the cellular data connection on your phone, go to Settings > cellular and switch Data connection to On.
  5. Check that your data roaming is activated when you are not in your home network, go to Settings > cellular and select data roaming options.
  6. If the data connection is lost, try reconnecting by switching Flight mode on and back off: Tap Settings > Flight mode. This resets the active data connection.
  7. If you have Multi-SIM (two SIM cards of the same mobile phone number), note that SMS and MMS can only be received on your assigned “primary” SIM card.
  8. If you have a known Wi-Fi network running in the background, this can trigger the Wi-Fi network connection to be established. In this case, tap Settings > WiFi and switch WiFi networking temporary off.

The previous actions usually solve your problem. If it does not help, insert your SIM card in another device and retry. If it is working in another device, contact your network operator for Internet and MMS settings reconfiguration or you may need reset the phone to factory settings (Settings > about > reset your phone).

How do I troubleshoot my Nokia wireless Bluetooth headset? - Nokia FAQ

Average Rating

If you cannot connect the headset to the compatible phone, proceed as follows:

  • Make sure that the Bluetooth feature is activated on the compatible phone.
  • Make sure that the headset is switched on and paired with the compatible phone.
  • Make sure that you have disconnected the previous Bluetooth connection from the phone.
  • Check that the headset is within 30 feet (10 meters) of the phone and that there are no obstructions, such as walls, or other electronic devices between the headset and the phone.
  • The pairing information list of the headset may be full. The headset can store the information of up to 8 phones at a time. If the list becomes full, reset the headset to the original settings (for detailed information on how to reset your headset, see the User Guide of the headset).
  • If the headset does not automatically reconnect to the default or last user phone, press and hold the Answer/End key.

My memory card or mass memory is not working properly. What should I do? - Nokia FAQ

Average Rating

If your memory card or mass memory is not working properly, check the following:

  1. Use only compatible memory cards approved by Nokia for use with your device. Check the user guide or the technical specifications at Nokia support pages for more details
  2. Check that the memory card is properly inserted in the memory card slot. Push the memory card to the bottom of the slot.
  3. If possible, test with another memory card to see if the issue is in the memory card.
  4. Check that the device is not connected to PC. Depending on the device and the connection mode, the PC may reserve the mass memory and memory card for exclusive use and the memory drives cannot in this situation be accessed from the mobile device. Unplug your device from PC and try again.

If the memory card or mass memory is not working properly, try backing up any data from your device's memory card or mass memory to your PC, then format the memory card or mass memory by using your Nokia device. Depending on your device, the memory card can usually be formatted in one of the following applications (select the application, open the desired memory device and in the available options select the command to format the memory card or mass memory):

  • File mgr.
  • Memory tool
  • Memory card tool

Refer to your device's user guide for more information on how to format the memory card or mass memory.

If you get an error message during the formatting process or an error message after formatting stating that your device cannot read the memory card volume or mass memory, take the memory card or Nokia device (in case you have internal mass memory in your device) to your nearest Nokia care point.

Warning: Formatting your memory card or mass memory will permanently erase all data stored on the memory card or mass memory. Please back up all data stored on your memory card or mass memory before formatting.

Important: The memory card or mass memory inside your Nokia device should ONLY be formatted using your Nokia device. Do not attempt to format your memory card on another device such as a PC, otherwise your memory card may not work properly.
