Troubleshooting for Nokia Mail powered by Yahoo

Nokia Mail setup

 

On a Nokia Lumia device, if you are trying to add your existing Nokia Mail account, select Settings, then select email+accounts, then select add an account and finally select Nokia Mail (or other account if Nokia Mail is not on the list). Enter your complete email id and password to add your existing Nokia Mail account.

 

On most Nokia devices, you can pick Menu and then Mail icon and follow the instructions to setup Nokia Mail on your device, or in other cases you can add your existing Nokia Mail account to your phone manually by following these instructions:

1. Using your phone, add a new mailbox. For instructions, see your phone user guide. 
2. If prompted, enter the following information:

• Your Nokia mail (either @ovi.com or @nokiamail.com) address
• Your Nokia account password
• Incoming mail server: imap.nokiamail.com
• Outgoing mail server: smtp.nokiamail.com
• The access point you use to connect to the internet
• Mailbox name: Nokia Mail
• Incoming security port SSL/TLS: 993
• Outgoing security port SSL/TLS: 465.

Nokia Chat setup

 

On a Nokia Asha or S40 device

• Pick Menu, then the Chat icon, and select Nokia Chat or Ovi Chat from the list of options.
• If the previous steps don’t work, go to Menu, pick the Messaging icon, and then the Chat icon. Select Nokia Chat or Ovi Chat from the list of options.

 

On a Nokia Symbian device, you need to get the free Chat application.  

• Pick Menu, then the Store icon, and search for IM for Nokia or Chat on the go.  
•  Get and then start the IM for Nokia – Chat on the go app. Select Nokia Chat or Ovi Chat from the list of options.
