When typing a text in landscape mode during a call, the proximity sensor is easily covered by hand. This causes the display to go blank. The proximity sensor is located on top left on the Nokia 700 and 603 devices.
By default the Nokia E52 displays the current time (Big Clock) when long pressing any key while the keypad is locked and the screen saver is activated. After an upgrade to firmware version 031.012, Nokia E52 displays the clock only when long pressing the middle of the Navi key.
ClearBlack display provides improved outdoor visibility with lower power consumption by removing unwanted reflections from the display.
If the Nokia device does not display the battery charging icon when using the CA-101 connectivity cable to charge does not mean that the phone and/or battery is broken, but is caused by the way USB charging works. For optimization purposes, the phone prioritizes charging the battery over activating the display for a period of time when the battery is very low.
The battery charging indicator should start to scroll after few seconds. But if battery is totally uncharged (empty) it might take up to 15 minutes until charging indicator is displayed on the screen.
In case of a problem,
The blinking closed envelope icon indicates the SIM card message memory is full.
Select Menu > Messaging > Options > (View folders > Options) > SIM messages and delete one or more SMS messages.
Note 1: Class 2 messages (for example, service messages from operators) are stored in the SIM card message memory. Once the SIM card message memory is full, Class 2 messages can't be received.
Note 2: You have used a Nokia S40 product before. In S40 products the SIM card message memory is filled before the device message memory. If you insert a SIM card with full message memory to another device, a blinking message icon appears on the display of your Nokia device.
Note 3: Other reason could be that there is not enough free memory available on the device to store the new message. To release a space go to Messaging > Inbox and remove unnecessary messages
