Jan Chipchase works in for the Mobile HCI Group at the Nokia Research Center splitting his time between running user studies and developing new applications, services and products. He specializes in taking teams of concept/industrial designers, psychologists, usability experts, sociologists, and ethnographers into the field and, after a fair bit of work, getting them home safely. The research is used to inform, inspire and affect how his colleagues think and what they do. Jan lives in and works from Tokyo, his home since year 2000.
