During her twenty years at Nokia, Ulla has held several finance and marketing positions in Finland, UK and US. In her current role as Head of Finance and Strategic Marketing, Ulla is responsible for Finance and Strategic Marketing for Nokia IPR operations globally. Nokia IPR function, consisting of about 200 IPR professionals, manages Nokia patent assets centrally as an investment portfolio bringing tangible business benefits for Nokia.

Nokia has been building its IPR portfolio over the last 15 years by investing over EUR 25 billion in Research & Development. The importance of IPR in Nokia's business is crucial and increasing as a result of the high level of R&D investment and rapid technological development. Nokia's current IPR portfolio consists of close to 11,000 patent families attesting Nokia's very strong IPR position across all major cellular standards, data applications and User Interface.

Ulla has M.Sc. (ME) in Technology from Tampere University of Technology (1985) and M.B.A. from Helsinki School of Economics (1988).
