

John Loughney is currently a collaboration manager in the Maemo OS Product Management. He has vast experience with Nokia in the field of R&D.
Prior to his current job, John was heading the Trials and Testbeds team inside of Nokia Research Center which helped stimulate research and innovation from inside of Nokia along with research from partners by engaging in co-creation with users, universities and researchers.
Additionally, John was a Principle Engineer in the Nokia Research Center, where he was responsible for research in multiradio and multi-access. The results of his research can be found in Nokia devices such as Nokia E61i, Nokia E70, Nokia N95 and Nokia N96, among others.
John has also been active in Internet standardization, where he has authored and co-authored several dozen Internet standards. He is an IPv6 Forum Fellow and executive member of the North American IPv6 Task Force Steering Committee.
