Kimmo Kalliola is leading the Local Positioning team of Wireless Systems and Services Laboratory at Nokia Research Center, Nokia’s corporate research unit. Interacting closely with all Nokia business groups, Nokia Research Center is responsible for the strategic and long-term research in Nokia.
He joined Nokia in 1999 as research engineer. During his time with NRC he has worked on several technology areas focusing on smart antennas, radio propagation modeling, flexible spectrum use, and most recently radio positioning.
Kimmo holds Ph.D. from Radio Laboratory of Helsinki University of Technology in 2002. He is the author or co-author of 25 academic papers and has 10 pending patent applications
