Sebastian Nyström is Vice President of Qt Software at Nokia. He is heading the Qt Software entity in Devices R&D that was formed as a result of Nokia's acquisition of Trolltech in June 2008. He is leading the development of the Qt cross software platform application framework that allows Nokia to deploy applications across device operating systems without rewriting code.
Prior to his current position he was Director of Technology Strategy at Nokia. He was responsible for strategy topics on technology with business impact across devices and services. He led business and technology strategy projects in the areas of wireless broadband access, software platforms and digital rights management. Prior to that, he was responsible for leading new and innovative early stage technology projects within Nokia. In this role he was responsible for a wide range of activities ranging from early stage technology selection and market making to standardization and commercialization.
Sebastian joined Nokia in 2003 from McKinsey & Company, a management consultancy, where he was leading strategy projects. Sebastian holds a M.Sc. in Industrial Engineering and Management from the Helsinki University of Technology.
