Nokia N8-00 4.3 5 9 9
would be better will Symbian Belle *finger crossed* January 15, 2012
Good usability and looks great! The N8-00 is a great phone all round, I have experienced only a few issues and they were to do with the Anna updates (Ovi Store didn't work after update) otherwise it is a great phone with a lot of good features :) January 16, 2012
Good Phone and camera Love the camera and the powersaving option. 12mp camera is clear and makes people go wow! *The O.S could improve much more. January 22, 2012
The phone with the best features... This phone really has all the features other phones do not have. Its so convenient to transfer files... Charging is also easy.. USB or small pin. Love the camera. Its the best after my previous phone N82. Thanks... Great mini-computer. January 28, 2012
great features every thing is ok except it has no nfc January 20, 2012
Slow and video is lousy Whenever a video is taken (any rotations of the phone - landscape or portrait), when transferred to the computer, the video is reversed. I have been using Nokia phone since 1997 and this is the worst I have ever had. October 1, 2012
Love the camera and maps Been using this phone since March 2011. Love the hardware on this; unbeatable camera , metal body that feels solid, gorilla glass. Only an N8 owner can grin when others complain about picture quality on phones. I have always been a Nokia fan for it's hardware and durability; you know that 9gag joke about indestructible Nokia phones. The software is where it loses out to competitors. There are the usual grouses with slow apps or frozen screens. A little embarrassing sometimes when the iphone beside you is working at breakneck speed. The updates have served to bridge the gap between Symbian OS and other competitors though, and I like to think that software quality will only get better. I like the tabs feature in the web browser after the updates, they're great for a multi-tasker like myself. The best redeeming quality in N8 software has the be Maps. Everyone can bash the Symbian OS but no one has got anything on Nokia Maps. The offline maps feature is fantastic. Storing the maps on the phone itself means that I can avoid incurring data charges when I'm on the move. I activate Maps out on cycling trips and I never get lost. Even when I'm overseas, I can navigate and that is very reassuring. I know that in the future, even if I switch to another handset, I will still retain my N8 as a GPS device. My phone came with Symbian 3 and I upgraded it to Anna, and now Belle. Updates sometimes come with frustration in the installation and aftermath, be it OS updates or individual updates for applications like Maps. I have had to go to a service centre to sort out my missing maps after installing an update. Apps and game statuses are lost when the device is updated. I have had to play Need for Speed Shift twice to reclaim my stable of cars. Currently, Belle works slower on my phone compared to Anna and it is most noticeable when sending a text message which irks me a little. A little frustrating when one expects that an update is supposed to make the device run and respond better. I tend to be more weary when updating now as new releases are usually not bug-free. That aside, I still love the N8. I believe in paying for quality in something that I can see and touch; hardware over software. If I could wish for something, it would be for the camera to be covered by Gorilla Glass for added durability. It would be good to implement it for all future flagship models since well, they are flagship models and deserve the best, no? June 2, 2012
