Charging

Learn how to charge the battery.

About the battery

Your phone has a removable, rechargeable battery. Use only Nokia approved chargers designated for this phone. You can also use a compatible USB data cable to charge your phone.

When the battery charge is low, power save mode is activated. To deactivate power save mode, press the power key , and select Deactivate power saving. When power save mode is activated, you may not be able to modify the settings of certain applications.

Insert the battery

  1. To remove the back cover of the phone, press the back cover with your fingers, slide the cover open, and lift the cover off.

With the back of the phone facing you, press the middle of the back cover.
  2. Line up the battery contacts, and insert the battery.

The battery contacts are at the top left of the battery and the battery compartment.
  3. Replace the back cover.

The locking catches are on the inside of the back cover. Direct the locking catches towards their slots, and slide the cover upwards until it locks into place.

Charge the battery

Your battery has been partially charged at the factory, but you may need to recharge it before you can switch on your phone for the first time.

If the phone indicates a low charge, do the following:

  1. First connect the charger to the wall outlet, and then to your phone.
  2. When the battery is full, disconnect the charger from the phone, and then from the wall outlet.

You do not need to charge the battery for a specific length of time, and you can use the phone while it is charging.

Tip:

You can also use a compatible USB charger to charge your battery.
