Modem Options

You can use your Nokia 6800 as a modem for your PC. This means that you can access the Internet, your company's intranet or servers or your own e-mail while you are on the move. You can use your Nokia 6800 as a modem via infrared (IrDA) or cable connection. The Nokia 6800 uses the Connectivity Adapter Cable DKU-5, which is available as an enhancement.

System requirements

To install and run the Nokia Modem Options you need:

  • An Intel compatible PC equipped with Windows 98/98SE/ME/2000/XP
  • For the connection between the Nokia 6800 and PC you need a compatible infrared or USB port on your PC

Note: IRCOMM UPGRADE NEEDED FOR WINDOWS 2000

If your PC is running Windows 2000, make sure that you have upgraded it with the IrCOMM patch. Without the IrCOMM patch installed, you will not be able to make data calls with your PC using your Nokia 6800 phone. Updates for Windows are available from the Microsoft Download Center at http://www.microsoft.com/windows2000/downloads/security/q252795/default.asp
