MMS

Are Nokia 6800 MMS messages compatible with other manufacturers' products?
Yes, if the other manufacturer supports the 3GPP and WAP Forum MMS specifications and the MMS Conformance Document.

What is the average size of an MMS message that can be sent by or received by the Nokia 6800?
The average size of an MMS is around 10 kB with text and default size image (122x96), and 45 kB with text and image.

Up to a thousand characters are supported in one MMS message.

What is the maximum size of a picture that can be sent by the Nokia 6800?
Images up to VGA (640X480 pixels) size can be zoomed onto the screen, and the same messages can be sent from the phone. In terms of image data volume, all of the 45 kB of the message can be used by one single image.

Can you purchase a digital camera and use it with this phone, similar to the Nokia 9210?
A Nokia Camera Headset enhancement can be used to display photos directly to the mobile phone. This is a small and light combination of a digital add-on Camera and Headset to enable users to take pictures and transfer to the Nokia 6800. From the Nokia 6800, you can then send the picture as a MMS message, set it as wallpaper or send it to a compatible PC.
However, transferring digital images from an external camera directly to the Nokia 6800 is not possible. Images from a digital camera can be transferred through a PC to the Club Nokia Photo Zone, and from there sent as an MMS message to the Nokia 6800. It is then possible to use that picture as wallpaper.

Can I change the screensaver image?
The digital clock screensaver in the Nokia 6800 is fixed and cannot be replaced.

You can have the information of 5 credit cards and save up to 30 confidential personal notes like passwords and usernames into the Nokia 6800 wallet.

How is the security guaranteed in the wallet application?
The data inside the wallet is protected by a user definable wallet code. In the transaction itself, in addition to the normal GSM/WAP security measures, the Nokia 6800 also supports the security module (WIM) for client authentication and encrypted digital signature. In this product, the WIM is located in the SIM card.

What is WIM?
The WIM, i.e. Wireless Identity Module, is a security module on the handset, which is used for authentication. Its main function is to enable digital signatures. WIM functionalities are based on WPKI (Wireless Public Key Infrastructure). Wireless PKI covers the infrastructure and the procedures required to enable the trust provisioning needed for authentication and digital signatures for servers and clients.
