Troubleshooting for Nokia 206

Security keyguard lets you lock your phone’s keypad with a security code. The security code is asked when you unlock the keypad.

To activate or deactivate the security keyguard:

1. Select Menu > Settings > Phone (or Phone settings or Device) > Security keyguard.
2. To activate or deactivate, enter the current security code (The preset code is 12345).

Note: Note: Once you change your security code, the default setting is no longer valid. If you have changed your security code and do not remember the new code, contact your dealer or local Nokia Care Point.
You can answer a call or make an emergency call while the security keyguard is activated.

Select Menu > Settings > Display (or Main display) > Font size.

Select Menu > Settings > Phone (or Phone settings or Device) > Start-up tone.
 

Nokia Nearby complements the user experience of Nokia Maps.
Nokia Nearby is a convenient way of finding nearby places, such as restaurants and shops. It's a fast way to find the places, without needing to open the full maps service.

Snooze time can be adjusted from 2 min to 59 min by selecting Menu > Organiser (or Apps.) > Alarm clock > Snooze time-out.

Select Menu > Settings > Tone settings (or Tones) > Vibrating alert.

Note: If your device is powered off, the vibrating alert does not work.

You can associate any entry in contacts with a key from 2-9, then dial those entries by pressing and holding the assigned key.

Turn speed dialing on and off
Select Menu > Settings > Call (or Call settings) > Speed dialling.
Select On to activate or Off to deactivate.

Assign a key
Select Menu > Contacts > Speed dials (or Speed dialling or More > Speed dials).
Scroll to any empty key number and select Assign.
Enter the number (including the area code) and select OK, then enter a name for the number and select OK.
OR
Select Search to retrieve a number from contacts.
If speed dialing is off, the phone displays a prompt asking if you would like to turn speed dialing on.
Select Yes to activate speed dialing.

Make a call
Press and hold the key to which an entry has been assigned. Your phone dials the entry assigned to the key.

Change numbers
Select Menu > Contacts > Speed dials (or Speed dialling or More > Speed dials).
Scroll to the entry you wish to change and select Options > Change. You are asked to confirm the change.
Enter the new number and select OK, then enter a name for the number and select OK.
OR
Select Search to retrieve a number from contacts.

Delete numbers
Select Menu > Contacts > Speed dials (or Speed dialling or More > Speed dials).
Scroll to the entry you wish to delete and select Options > Delete. You are asked to confirm the deletion.
Select OK (or Yes) to delete the key assignment.

Formatting a memory card will erase all data stored on it so make sure you have a backup of all your important data before following this procedure.

To format your memory card go to Menu > Apps. (Applications) > Gallery highlight the Memory card and select Options > Memory card options > Format memory card. On Asha Touch devices when in the Gallery long tap on the Memory card and then select Memory card options > Format memory card.

The memory card inside your Nokia device should ONLY be formatted using your Nokia device. If you attempt to format your memory card in another device such as a PC, your memory card may not work properly.

Nokia Nearby itself is free of charge, but you need an internet connection, so standard operator costs may apply. However, since Nokia Xpress is used as platform, data consumption is minimal.

The new Nokia Asha (S40) phones such as Nokia 206 are not supported by Nokia Suite or PC Suite. To see the list of phones compatible with Nokia Suite, go to http://www.nokia.com/nokiasuite.
