Troubleshooting for Nokia C3-00

To check your email settings, select Options > More > Account settings :

• Alert me for new mail = on/off : Choose on
• Alert me only during 00.00-00.00 : from midnight to midnight
• Update my inbox = Manually / Fast / Very fast (select very fast)

Select Menu > Settings > Connectivity > WLAN. Search for available wireless local area networks (WLAN)and select available WLANs and the desired WLAN.

Disconnect from a WLAN :Scroll to the WLAN, and select Disconn..

Modify internet connection settings:

Select Internet connection > Ask first or Do not ask. If you select Ask first, you are asked for the connection method every
time you open an application that requires an internet connection, such as
Browser or Mail. If you select Do not ask, the device connects to a saved WLAN, if available, when an application requires an internet connection.

Hidden WLANs do not broadcast their service set identifier (SSID). They aremarked as (Hidden network) in the list of available WLANs. You can only connectto a hidden network if you know its SSID.

Connect to a hidden network

1 Select (Hidden network).
2 Enter the SSID of the network, and select OK.
When you save the hidden network, it is displayed in the list of available WLANs.

How can I use always WLAN connection on my Nokia phone for Internet  instead of cellular network (GPRS)?

1.  Select Menu > Settings > Connectivity > WLAN > Available WLANs > Check the WLAN name you wish to connect.
   
2. Select Menu > Settings > Configuration >Personal settings  > Add new > Access Point > Write the name of the WLAN access point you check before.
3. Select Menu > Settings and Configuration > Preferred access point — View the saved access points and choose the preferred WLAN access point
   
4. Menu > Settings > Connectivity > WLAN > Internet Connection :Ask first
   
5. you are asked for the connection method every time you open an application that requires an Internet connection such as Browser or Mail.

Create a new Personal configuration settings

1. Go to menu
2. Settings
3. Configuration
4. Personal Settings
5. Add new > Web ( you dont have to change anything || just hit the "back" button
6. Options > Activate

Drafts folder is no longer in Messaging and has been replaced by Notes.
To find Notes select Menu -> Apps -> Notes-> Create a note and Select Options-> Send note ->Send as message.

The BGSA_upload.log is part of the system files and this is actually used as a system log. Please be assured that this is not a virus as S40 devices are not infected by viruses. On the other hand, you would need to delete this file as it may take up space on your memory card.

Security keyguard lets you lock your phone’s keypad with a security code. The security code is asked when you unlock the keypad.

To activate or deactivate the security keyguard:

1. Select Menu > Settings > Phone (or Phone settings or Device) > Security keyguard.
2. To activate or deactivate, enter the current security code (The preset code is 12345).

Note: Note: Once you change your security code, the default setting is no longer valid. If you have changed your security code and do not remember the new code, contact your dealer or local Nokia Care Point.
You can answer a call or make an emergency call while the security keyguard is activated.

To see WLAN MAC address of your phone, follow the steps below:

1. Go to Menu > Settings > Connectivity.
   • Asha 306 and 311: Select Wi-Fi, and then long tap one of the available WLANs, and select Details.
   • Other touch screen models: Select WLAN > Available WLANs, and then long tap one of the available WLANs, and select Details.
   • Non-touch screen models: Select WLAN > Available WLANs > Options > Details.
2. In the details screen you will see the MAC address as 12 characters.

To remove one or more applications from your Series 40 device:

• Go to Menu > Apps > Extras (or Menu > Apps > Apps and games)
• Locate the applications you want to remove and select Options > Mark
  • On non-touch devices you have the option to select Options > Delete which will remove the application immediately.
  • If the Mark (or Delete) option are grayed out you are trying to remove a system application which is not allowed.
• Mark the application(s) you want to remove
• Select Options > Delete marked
• Select Yes to confirm the deletion or No to cancel

Select Menu > Settings > Display (or Main display) > Font size.

Select Menu > Settings > Security and from the following options:

• PIN code request or UPIN code request-to set the phone to ask for your PIN or UPIN code every time the phone is switched on. Some SIM cards do not allow the code request to be turned off.
• PIN2 code request-to select whether the PIN2 code is required when using a specific phone feature which is protected by the PIN2 code. Some SIM cards do not allow the code request to be turned off.
• Call restrictions or Call barring service-to restrict incoming calls or outgoing calls (network service). A restriction or barring password is required to activate the service.
• Fixed dialling-to restrict your outgoing calls to selected phone numbers if this function is supported by your SIM card. When the fixed dialing is on, GPRS connections are not possible except while sending text messages over a GPRS connection. In this case, the recipient’s phone number and the message center number must be included in the fixed dialing list (network service).
• Closed user group-to specify a group of people whom you can call and who can call you (network service)
• Security level > Phone-to set the phone to ask for the security code whenever a new SIM card is inserted into the phone. If you select Memory, the phone asks for the security code when the SIM card memory is selected, and you want to change the memory in use.
• Access codes-to change the security code (default code is 12345), PIN code, PIN2 code, or restriction password.
• Code in use-to select whether the PIN code should be active.
• Authority certificates or User certificates-to view the list of the authority or user certificates downloaded into your phone.
• Security module sett. or Security module-to view Secur. module details, activate Module PIN request, or change the module PIN and signing PIN.
   

Note: The available options may vary. When call restrictions, closed user group, or fixed dialing is activated, calls still may be possible to the official emergency number programmed into your device.
