Troubleshooting for Nokia products

By built-in email client design, only one mailbox can be displayed on the home screen.

To find other mailboxes select Menu > Messaging.

Or if you have used the setup email wizard to create mailbox, you can find the mailboxes from Menu > Applications > Email.

Applies for Nokia C5-03, C5-05 and C5-06 phones.

When Contact bar theme is selected:

Select Menu > Settings > Personal > Home screen > E-mail notification > Mailbox.

To select Contact Bar theme perform the following:  Select Menu > Settings > Personal > Themes > Home scr. theme > Contact bar.

Applies for Nokia C5-03, C5-05, C5-06 devices.

Select Menu > Tools (or Settings) > Settings > General > Personalisation > Display.

Select from the following (the settings may vary depedning on your phone model):

• Light sensor (or Brightness): Scroll left or right to adjust the light sensor that observes the lighting conditions and adjusts the brightness of the display. The light sensor may cause the display to flicker in low light.
• Font size: Adjust the size of the text and icons on the display.
• Power saver time-out: Select the time-out period after which the power saver is activated.
• Welcome note / logo: The welcome note or logo is displayed briefly each time you switch on the device. Select Default to use the default image, Text to write a welcome note, or Image to select an image from Gallery.
• Light time-out: Select a time-out after which the backlight of the display is switched off.

You can not adjust the light sensor when your device is in the power saving mode. For example, if you try to change the brightness of the display when the battery level is very low, the error Unable to change settings power save mode active is displayed. To recover, charge the battery before adjusting the brightness.

Nokia PC Suite does not handle ordered ringing tones, pictures, games, and so on, because of copyright reasons.

This is happening because the "My name" setting configured within the user's Nokia Messaging account does not match the name that's configured in the user's Hotmail web account.

Problem Solution

1. On a computer, open up a web browser and go to: http://email.nokia.com.
2. Enter in the User name and password.
3. Select Login.
4. Select Remove next to the user's Hotmail account.
5. Select Remove.
6. Select Add another.
7. Enter in the user's Hotmail email address and password, but leave the "My name" field blank.
8. Select Next.
9. Select OK.

All outgoing emails sent from this user's Hotmail client via Nokia Messaging will now utilize the from/display name that's configured in the user's Hotmail web account.

Note: You may have issues using Chrome when accessing to the Nokia Messaging web site. We recommend using another browser instead.

The number indicates the active phone line. This indicator is shown only if the SIM card supports two subscriber numbers, that is, two phone lines.

Press and hold # to select Line 1 or Line 2 for making calls and sending text messages, you see a prompt Change the phone line if you have subscribed to this service. When the first line is selected, indicator 1 is shown in the standby mode.

When you remove the SIM card, the number indicator disappears from the display.

If the battery is completely discharged, it may take a longer time before the charging indicator appears on the display or before any calls can be made. This is because your device is intended for use with a battery of a large capacity.

Your device has more than one mode for using the cable connection. Examples of different modes are: Media transfer, Mass storage, Nokia Suite, PC Suite, Media player, Image Transfer, Image Print, Data transfer, and Default mode. The available options in USB or data cable mode settings vary according to device model. Usually by default user should be prompted to select a mode when attaching the USB cable. If no prompt is given, you can check the mode in use from phone settings. Refer to the user guide and/or online resources of your device for detailed instructions.

To establish a connection between your device and the PC running PC Suite, do the following:

1. On your device, navigate to MENU > SETTINGS > CONNECTIVITY > USB or data cable settings. Please refer to the user guide of your device for the exact location of this folder.
2. Select the cable connection mode in one of the following ways:

•  Select "Nokia Suite", "PC Suite","Nokia mode", or "Default mode" as the default cable connection mode.
•  Alternatively, set your device to "Ask on connection". This way, the device asks for the desired connection mode every time you connect the cable.
